It has been one of the most common questions since the WSWA app launched on iPhone:
“When is Android coming?”
It’s here. WSWA is now available on Android.
The official World Streak Walking Association app can now be downloaded from Google Play.
It’s another important step for WSWA — and, more importantly, it opens the community to many more walkers around the world.
The same WSWA experience, now on Android
On Android, you’ll find the core WSWA features you already know:
- walk logging, manually or automatically through Strava;
- 3 daily rings — Streak, Volume and Consistency;
- WSWA badges and certifications;
- community rankings — streaks, distance, badges and Empreintes;
- the WSWA activity feed;
- daily progress tracking at a glance.
Whether you use an iPhone or an Android phone, you are now part of the same community, following the same rules, earning the same certifications and appearing in the same World Registry.
One rule that doesn’t change
Your phone may change. The WSWA walking streak rule does not:
walk at least 3.2 km — 2 miles — in one continuous walk.
Then do it again tomorrow.
And the day after that.
The goal is not to set a new record every day. It is to build something over time: a habit, consistency and a streak that grows one day at a time.
6 new badges are joining the collection
The Android launch comes with another update: 6 new badges are now joining WSWA.
🎂 Birth Year
Walk as many kilometres as your year of birth.
🚀 Ultra Week
Reach 70 km in a single week.
⏰ Always on Time
Reach 100 days of streak and complete 25 walks before 8 a.m.
🦸 Nothing Stops Me
Rain, cold or heat: keep walking across different weather conditions.
🍹 Well-Earned Aperitif
Complete 5 walks between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. during the summer.
🩴 Flip-Flops & Kilometres
Walk 50 km within 14 days during July or August.
And some existing members may get a pleasant surprise when they open the app: several of these badges can be awarded from your previous activity when the required criteria have already been met.
Free and ad-free
WSWA remains true to its non-profit model.
The app is free and ad-free, on Android just as it is on iOS.
The goal remains simple: make walking streaks accessible to as many people as possible and build a community around consistency, progress and the simple pleasure of walking.
