MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
By registering, members acknowledge the physical nature of the activity and certify they are medically fit to participate.
1. Nature of the Activity
The WSWA (World Streak Walking Association) certifies uninterrupted daily walking streaks. Walking is a physical activity that, while generally low-risk, involves inherent physical exertion and may carry health risks for certain individuals.
2. Member Certification
By accepting this medical disclaimer at registration, the member certifies that:
- They are not aware of any medical condition that prevents them from practising regular daily walking;
- They have consulted or will consult a healthcare professional if they have any doubt about their ability to engage in this activity;
- They take full personal responsibility for their health and physical condition throughout their participation in the WSWA programme.
3. Limitation of WSWA Liability
The WSWA association, its volunteers, administrators and partners cannot be held liable for any injury, accident, deterioration in health or any other harm arising directly or indirectly from participation in the walking streak programme. The member participates under their own responsibility.
4. Recommendations
WSWA recommends that all participants:
- Wear appropriate footwear and clothing adapted to weather conditions;
- Maintain adequate hydration;
- Stop and consult a doctor in case of pain, dizziness or unusual symptoms;
- Inform a relative of their walking route, particularly for long-distance walks.
5. Minors
For participants under the age of 16, parental or guardian consent is required at registration and implies that the parent or guardian also accepts this medical disclaimer on behalf of the minor.
