What is WSWA,
concretely, today?
A registered nonprofit, one clear rule, a public registry and a community of walkers making progress every day.
Consistency
The walking streak rests on a simple principle: what counts is what was actually done.
Integrity
The honour declaration as a foundation. Like SRI/USRSA for 25 years: your word is your commitment.
Why trust, not surveillance →Community
A community open to all profiles: beginners, seniors, athletes, occasional or very regular walkers.
Inspired by the SRI/USRSA daily running-streak principle (25 years old), adapted by WSWA to a 3.2 km walking practice.
Roughly, depending on stride length — a concrete way to build more movement into your day, achievable from day one.
At a moderate intensity, a daily walk of this length can contribute to WHO's weekly physical activity recommendations (150–300 min/week).
Designed to stay simple and achievable for a wide range of people, according to their abilities and situation.
One daily objective: validate at least one outing of 3.2 km or more. Your health and safety always come first — the WSWA rule does not replace medical advice.

What are the 3 rings?
How are certifications awarded?
Why daily walking?
Walking is the simplest habit for long-term health. 3.2 km a day — about 35 minutes — is accessible to almost everyone.
Why a federation?
Running has had streak registries for 25 years. Walking deserved its own: certifications, public registry, official community.
Why now?
WSWA launched on 19 March 2026. You can be a founding member — every day counts from the very beginning.
An official rule
3.2 km minimum per outing, every day, for members in Streak mode.
An active community
Streaks, levels and public profiles visible in the World Rankings — encouragements and shared progress.
Valued progression
Certifications, badges and member history to track lasting progress — with or without an active streak.
These members joined WSWA at launch. Their number is permanent and visible on their public profile.
The nonprofit structure gives WSWA a legal framework, an identified governance and published operating obligations.
